DBA01 batam trip

Lepak batam trip with DBA01, it's my 2nd overseas trip with some of them. Going overseas with different people give you different experience.

Day 1
Had McDonald's breakfast together, collected our boarding pass and boarded the ferry to batam. Had to reach 90 minutes earlier than the allocated time, lack of sleep. Went for our package tour with the massage place as our first stop, it's located behind the souvenir shop with only a glass door separating them. The full body massage was rather painful for me and ticklish at the sensitive area near my thigh. The head massage was the most painful, I'll never go for a massage again. I wonder why some people enjoy it so much while I'm just suffering. After that was going to different shops to look at clothes. The shops are having discounts and we will have additional 15% discount with the sticker given to us by the tour guide. It seems as though they are encouraging us to spend. Had 7-course seafood lunch with prawns, crabs, sotong, bird nest etc. Some went to play go-kart while some shopped for clothes, the go-kart was located just outside the shop. One of the go-kart service crew had a little accident, a kid bumped into a go-kart when he came back and it knocked the guy off his feet. Poor thing. Visited the chocolate house, temple, places selling otah and kueh lapis. Didn't buy kueh lapis from that place cause bib's friend said there's a cheaper one at Nagoya shopping mall. Last stop was at a shopping mall, some went to play bowling and we bought kfc back. Road near our hotel was quite bumpy, checked in at pacific palace hotel. Some went for supper, was too full to eat already so me & boonie stayed in our hotel rooms watching channel 5.

Day 2
Was awakened by mel knocking on our door the next morning, gave them a shock with my 'ghostly' appearance with my hair all messy. Whole body was aching because of the massage yesterday. Breakfast with them, bib's friend helped us to hire a van to bring us to the places we want to go. Cancelled our plans for the beach cause it's raining. We had to pay to visit the beach, but the nice one was too far away, we could only go to the not-so-nice beach and it's quite dirty, nobody wants to pay to go to that beach. Saw haunted house in shopping mall, don't dare to go in. One thing I don't like about batam is there's no toilet paper in their toilets plus it's dirty and people don't really queue, they just stood outside the cubicle. I didn't know about that the first time I went and I was so angry when people kept cutting my queue. Went to barelang bridge, there's traffic on the bridge and walkway for people to take pictures. The sea view was awesome, took many nice shots there, we have our own "Ji-dragon" too haha. Had lunch at some unknown place, ordered nasi goreng while the rest ate bakso. Went to Nagoya shopping mall to watch the movie frozen ground, front part was too boring with all the talking, I just fell asleep. Their movie theatre was big, it's comparable to ours. Didn't get a chance to sing karaoke with them, not even sure if there are any chinese songs there. A&W for dinner, their A&W was nice with spicy chicken, fries and root beer float. Collected our kueh lapis, bought prune flavour for my cousin, she loves it ever since the last time I bought for her. The guys kept us waiting cause they were buying clothes, they shopped more than the girls. Last stop was to buy pancakes for supper, the driver was very friendly and nice to us the whole day and we gave him extra tips. Gathered at mel's room to play heads-up, an iPhone app which requires the person who's guessing to put the phone near his forehead and people will act out/say whatever hints to let the person guess the word that appears. Joke of the day: "Jeff, what are you?" "I'm a dog!" Hahahaha. Laughed a lot because of all the stupid answers & responses, played till 2am before we went back to sleep.

Heads-up!

Day 3
Breakfast with the girls only cause the guys couldn't wake up, had a heavy breakfast. Gathered at lobby to wait for the bus to send us to the ferry terminal, skipped lunch cause I'm too full. Had to queue 1 hour earlier before departure time, took us 30 minutes to get past the custom and it's very crowded, some people just cut our queue again. Reached Singapore at 5pm, I'm really tired but I really enjoyed this trip. They are suggesting another overseas trip next year. It's not a matter of what you did there but who you spend it with that makes this trip fun and enjoyable.
